These efforts help protect the integrity of Canada’s research ecosystem while supporting the openness, collaboration and academic freedom that underpin research excellence.
To support the safeguarding and integrity of sensitive Canadian research globally, research that is funded by Canada's tri-council agencies (Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), and including the New Frontiers in Research Fund) and the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) are subject to certain conditions depending on the nature of the research involved, as outlined by the policies below.
